Star wars sound familar - Star Wars Reviews

Star Wars. A movie so good it is now a house hold name. Yes, maybe a few people out there may think it old for this day, but in 1977 and around that year it was probably the most graphical film to date. No story line in any other film compares to the story line in this movie. Plus the acting is good and it is one of the best movies of all time. Even ask the AFI, its number 15 or 16 on there list of the 100 greatest films of all time. You cant argue with that can you.

Star wars scores - Star Wars Reviews

Star Wars is one of the most original movies of all time. It has probably been about 5 years since I've seen it but every time I watch it I feel amazed. George Lucas shows great skill in bringing this fantastic story to life and I don't know anyone who could do it better. In all my life i don't think I could ever get tired of this movie.

Overall best sci-fi movie of all time - Star Wars Reviews

Given all the different variables that one must balance out (story, special effects, impact on society, production, acting, neato toys, etc) I think Star Wars is the overall best science-fiction movie of all time. I don't usually make such broad-sweeping statements. But I've given this a lot of careful consideration. Compared to other science-fiction, Star Wars characters are unusually believable, genuine in their reactions, and consistant in their personalities. Compared to dramas, crime-suspense movies, comedies, documentaries & media's other basic formats, Science Fiction in general has an uphill battle from the get-go. All those pesky not-currently-existant elements (lasar blasters, pan-galactic friendships, casual space-travel, light-sabres) all these ideas striving for believability, if not complete commonplace. Star Wars effortlessly overcomes these obsticles, while holding the auidience in a rapture of fluid excitement. It borrows the best adventure & wisdom from Merlin the Magician, Bruce Lee, Errol Flynn, James Bond... It is touching with a gentle, romantic humor. Then edge-of-your-seat swashbuckling as our dashing heroes continuously fight the forces of Evil. In the styles of old western gunslighers, knights in shining armor, World War II ariel dogfights and fantastic tales from a galaxy far, far away. Not overly sappy & sugar-coated (that was "Phantom Menace"); just straight-on important morals told in a wonderfully rich combination of good vs. evil, special effects and raw imagination. If you've never experienced Star Wars, you're letting the best in Life pass you by.

The beginning of an empire - Star Wars Reviews

I saw this movie as a kid and automatically became a fan. The heroes are likable as are the villans. The space fighter battle at the end is still one of my favorites. I even liked the special edition add ins except of course the "Greedo shot first" thing. The story still holds up 20+ years later. It became the model for SCI FI epics for years to come and launched one of its stars to superstardom. I still enjoy watching it over and over and my kids love the movie too. I would recommend to anyone.

Classic - Star Wars Reviews

Why an A+, because it is one of the most influential films in movie history. This movie was truly ahead of its time. Forget the fact that the story is so-so, and that the acting in cases almost laughable (to today's standards). For its time the standard of direction and visuals are both outstanding. Although I'm certain almost everyone has seen this movie, if you haven't you have to see it (as well as episode 5 and 6).
